New York-based band PRETTY SICK are the modern-day Riot Grrrls that transport us back to the peak era of punk rock. Ladies of Pretty Sick introduce yourselves …
Sabrina: I’m Sabrina, I play bass and sing.
Ella: I’m Ella, I play guitar and sing.
Eva: I play drums.
How did the band meet?
Sabrina: Me and Eva met when we were 12 and 13 at Rock Camp and then maybe a year and a half later we met Ella and formed our holy trinity.
What are the creative dynamics of the band? Who writes the songs, music, etc.?
Sabrina: I write the lyrics for the most part and we work on the music together.
Is there an album coming soon?
Sabrina: Yes … maybe … yes.
What was the last album you all bought?
Ella: Frank Ocean’s ‘Blonde’
Eva: ‘What’s Going On’ – Marvin Gaye and ‘Madvilliany’ – Madvillian
Favourite NYC hangout?
Eva: Either the lawn or LES.
Sabrina: I’m always around LES.
Ella: LES.

Ella: I would see David Bowie or Queen.
Eva: The Jimi Hendrix Experience.
Sabrina: I would probably go to see The Velvet Underground or Bjork’s MTV Unplugged set.
